STD 9 – Field Trip  – Cocoa Research Centre, Kerala Agricultural University

On December 7, 2023, Don Bosco Central School, Mannuthy, organized a field trip to the Cocoa Research Centre at Kerala Agricultural University as part of the Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) program.

Objective:
The primary objective of the trip was to enhance students’ knowledge of Bean-to-Bar technology in chocolate making.

Activities:
The day commenced with an informative class on Bean-to-Bar technology conducted by Dr. Minimol J S, a distinguished professor (Genetics and Plant Breeding) at the Cocoa Research Centre. Dr. Minimol J S shared valuable insights into the intricate process of chocolate production, emphasizing the journey from cocoa bean cultivation to the final chocolate bar.

Practical Session:
Following the theoretical session, students had the privilege of engaging in a practical session, guided by Dr. Minimol J S. This hands-on experience allowed students to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in class, fostering a deeper understanding of the chocolate-making process.
