Onam Celebration 2024

On September 11, 2024, Don Bosco Central School, Mannuthy, celebrated Onam with joy and unity. The celebrations were simple yet meaningful, beginning with the creation of vibrant Pookalams by the higher-class students along with the higher secondary students. The floral designs, which symbolized harmony and festivity, adorned the entrances of both the KG block as well as the main block, welcoming everyone to the day’s event. Adding to the festive atmosphere, teachers and students came dressed in colourful traditional attire, which brought the celebration to life with its visual beauty. The hues of Kerala’s traditional Onam costumes, combined with the smiles on everyone’s faces, made the school premises feel full of energy and glee.

Following the traditional Pookalam preparation, the students and teachers gathered in their respective classrooms to enjoy the grand Onam Sadhya. The students themselves took charge of arranging the delicious dishes, making the celebration more personal and collaborative. The grand meal was concluded with the most awaited sweet treat—Payasam, which was enjoyed by everyone. The event fostered a sense of community as everyone came together to experience the essence of Onam through food and culture. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Shino Kalapurackal, and the Vice Principal Re. Fr. Jithin Chakkimangalath extended their warm wishes to all the students, encouraging them to celebrate with delight and unity, and reminding them of the values that Onam represents. The program, though simple, was celebrated with the utmost elation and integrity, reflecting the spirit of togetherness that Onam brings.
