On 1 November 2024, we, the Bosconians of Don Bosco Central School, Mannuthy, celebrated Kerala Piravi with great pride. Our esteemed chief guest, Rev. Fr. Joice Thanikuzhyil SDB, joined us for this occasion, honoring our beloved state.
The celebration commenced with a heartfelt prayer song, invoking blessings upon the gathering. A warm welcome was extended by Mrs. Rosa, who set the tone for the day with her kind words. This was followed by a moving prayer.
Fr. Joice then delivered an inspiring message about the importance of our Motherland, reminding us of the beauty and cultural heritage of Kerala. The program continued with “Kerala Thanima,” a mesmerizing performance by around 120 children, who showcased the unique aspects of ‘God’s Own Country.’
The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Dhanya, expressing gratitude to everyone who made the celebration memorable. The event concluded with the Pledge and the National Anthem, fostering a sense of pride and unity.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion, the main corridor entrance of the school was adorned with a map of Kerala crafted with various grains and glittering lamps. This display symbolized the state’s rich culture and scenic landscapes, captivating everyone who passed by. In honor of Kerala Piravi, the celebration emphasized the use of Malayalam, our cherished mother tongue, highlighting the significance of preserving our linguistic heritage.
