Don Bosco Central School in Mannuthy, with its historic grandeur, hosted the 2024-25 CISCE Kerala Regional Basketball Tournament on 05 & 06 August, 2024. The event began with a warm welcome from Rev. Fr. Shino Kalapurackal, Principal. Rev. Fr. Thomas Koonan, Rector and Manager, officially inaugurated the tournament.
Notable attendees included Mr. Shaju MP, CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Coordinator; Mr. Anto Chirammal PTA President; Ms. Renu Thomas, School Coordinator; and Sreesanth M, Sports Captain. The tournament, managed under the supervision of Mr. Satish Pillay, CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Observer and Mr. P.C. Antony, Kerala Basketball Selection Committee Member, followed Basketball Federation of India (BFI) regulations.
The competition featured 46 matches, with teams divided into six zones (A to F) across three categories: U-14, U-17, and U-19 for both boys and girls. The event concluded with a grand ceremony on 6 August, presided over by Rev. Fr. Joyce Thonikoazhiyil, Vice Rector. Fr. Shino Kalapurackal and other distinguished guests congratulated the participants.
Zone E dominated the girls’ categories, winning all U-14, U-17, and U-19 matches. In the boys’ categories, Zone B triumphed in U-14, Zone A in U-17, and Zone D in U-19. The winners and runners-up were honored with medals and trophies, and the victorious teams will advance to the national championship.
